The MonAMI project will demonstrate that accessible, useful services for elderly and disabled persons living at home can be delivered in mainstream ICT systems and platforms. Services will address the areas: safety and security, communication and information, activity planning, health and comfort applications. They will be delivered on mainstream technologies such as digital-TV, third-generation mobile telephones and broadband Internet. The services will first be tested in Feasibility and Usability centres in six Member States with user tests in lab-like conditions. Feasible, usable and appropriate services will then be tested on a large scale in Validation centres in four Member States. Hundreds of users will try out the services in their homes and the impact and consequences will be analysed in order to pave the way towards real mainstream implementation.
