Detail points play a crucial role in the calculation of stress in structural glazing. Drill holes, point fixing by clamps or plane discs with drill holes and glued connection are such detail points. The calculation of these details is usually done by using the finite element analysis (FEA). But the scatter of the FEA results is very big – which means that the quality can be evaluated as low. The FEA results depend on the applied FEM software and the modeling by the user. Therefore, it is always necessary to compare FEA-results with solutions of comparable problems for excluding inadequate FEA models. In this paper, several analytical solutions for detail problems in structural glazing are derived and presented. These analytical solutions can be used for validation of point fixing systems (mechanical and glued).
