The aim of this study is to simulate correction of scoliosis using a finite element model in order to predict 3D correction with CD technique. The geometry of the 3D finite element model is personalized as well as the mechanical behavior. Hence each step of CD surgery is simulated : patient on the traction table, fixation of screws and hooks, linkage between rod and hooks and at last the rotation maneuver. Principles of validation is presented using per-operative measurements. Feasibility of the method is demonstrated on one given patient. First results are promising and would allow the surgeons to objectively analyze various strategies or techniques.
