This paper is about improving participation of people with disabilities in our society by means of indirect supportive measures, i.e. the inclusion of people with disabilities in standardization work, and especially training them for this job. As standardization is a way to influence the development of products and environments according to a best working and effective solution, the standardization itself is a design process. A part of the solution is to improve public procured products in a way that they are better for use by persons with disabilities (i.e. the aim of the Mandate 376 efforts at EU-level). Thus attention will be given to inclusion of end-users in general in design processes, and what this means for end-users with disabilities. The development of a special course for getting end-users with disabilities better educated and trained for this work is the main subject of this paper.
